Celebrating ASIAN AMERICAN, NATIVE HAWAIIAN & PACIFIC ISLANDER HERITAGE MONTH
As we observe Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month, we take pride in the vibrant and diverse cultural heritage of our community. From the spicy flavors of Southeast Asian cuisine to the rhythmic beat of Polynesian dance, the customs and traditions of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders are rich and varied.
Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders have made significant contributions to American society, including groundbreaking scientific discoveries by Nobel laureate Yoichiro Nambu, the music of Yo-Yo Ma that transcends cultural barriers and unites humanity, the award-winning performances of actor Ke Huy Quan, and the awe-inspiring ice skating of Olympic champion Nathan Chen, across fields such as science, medicine, technology, sports, entertainment, and the arts.
We also acknowledge the challenges and injustices that our community have faced, including discrimination, racism, and xenophobia. Despite these obstacles, we have persevered and thrived, and will become ever stronger.
Together, let us embrace the unique traditions and customs of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders and work towards a more inclusive and equitable society where all voices are heard and valued.
